CRS: The Industry´s Most Valued Designation
Thirty years ago, the Council of Residential Specialists created the benchmark for quality in the real estate industry: The Certified Residential Specialist designation.
Today fewer than 4% of all licensed Realtors have the designation.
Why so few? Candidates must first prove themselves in the field, completing a set number of transactions (or achieving comparable sales volume) within a specific period of time. They must also complete core CRS courses before pursuing other elective education requirements. CRS agents must maintain membership in the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® and abide by its Code of Ethics.
This rigorous qualification process and on-going training means that professionals who hold the CRS are exactly what clients seek: experienced, successful professionals with in-depth knowledge about business planning and working in a client´s best interest, as well as negotiating and closing smoother transactions.
RE/MAX affiliates make up about 20% of all CRS designees.
